Hello guys, I'm currently playing ppsspp in my laptop, and i try to use cheat engine.
I've tried some method from this forum. Some said i should enable MEM_MAPPED, it works, i can find the value. The thing is, i got the static value (the green address) and if i change the value, the emulator crash. I already done cheat engine tutorial, but not the last one (so hard).
My question is, what's my mistake?
Please someone tell me how to cheat game in ppsspp.
FYI:
The game i currently try to cheat is harvestmoon hero of leaf valley
Thank you.

get any os that's not windows 10, or execute this lua script before targeting the process:
Code: |
dbk_initialize()
dbk_useKernelmodeOpenProcess()
dbk_useKernelmodeProcessMemoryAccess()
dbk_writesIgnoreWriteProtection(true)

It's because of the OS
Or

I can fine gold quite easily in this game...
I enabled mem_mapped and use windows debugger (veh debugger just crash on me) and also make sure all Extra options are unchecked...
Run the Lua command provided by @Dark Byte and voila...
Here's an example table: |
Well, my mistake here. I was using kernel debungger, i just realized it after you mentioned windows debugger.

I'm jumping in for clarification, if you don't mind.
Is Windows 10 not supported by Cheat Engine? I'm having trouble nailing down processes and memory locations for some values on an emulator that from research has previously worked great. Would spinning up a Win7 VM yield different results than my current Win10 platform? I had Win7 Pro but I was pushed to Win10 Home and I have had other issues so I wouldn't be surprised.

Apparently windows 10 will destroy MEM_MAPPED memory regions if you change the protection of them. So don't change the protection on those. (I haven't tested this yet as I prefer not to use windows 10, but from peoples reactions this seems to work)

Thanks for the response! Sorry for my delay. I finally got a Windows 7 VM to run an Android Emulator. I ran VirtualBox a few times but things weren't loading up in the Android Emulators so I had to try VMWare which didn't like my .vmdk. Long story short, I tried Bluestacks and Nox with CE 6.6 on the Windows 7 VM. I was finding many more values than when I was using CE 1.x for Android on the Emulators or CE 6.6 on my Win10 machine. Unfortunately the 3rd search still never nailed down a memory location for any of the values.
I will say, Windows 7 seems to be more stable. Memory found sometimes fluctuates in the viewer but Windows 10 would all 0 out or a second search would come back with no results no matter what values I was looking at, sometimes even without changing the numbers.
I think I understood the comment about MEM_MAPPED and tried to allow that but it didn't seem to have much effect on my testing.
Thanks again for the response.
