Im new to cheat engine and in Dead Space 1 I changed the credits value and nodes and after I save and reboot to play again later those credits and nodes are still there which is what I want but none of my "infinite" ammo stays once I shut the game down. When I come back all my weapons have the original small amounts the game by default gives and I have to go thru the whole process of upping the ammo again. Also, if I accidentally reload ammo it reverts back to the default ammo amount. So now the question: why do my credits and nodes stay the same and how do I keep my infinite ammo amounts. Please use kindergarten speak to explain. I've watched many youtube videos and its like Greek to me. is there a simple way to save my ammo values that wont dissappear? Thank you
The game likely has a set maximum to the amount of ammo in the clip and that you can carry.
When the value is equal to or greater than that limit, the game simply sets it equal to the limit.
Maybe you'll get lucky and the limit is the variable 4-bytes before/after the current ammo.
However, most games have those values defined elsewhere and are not saved as part of your save game.
You won't have much luck with regular memory replacement when that is the case.
You'll just have to read up on some more tutorials and learn how code injection works.
