Hallo there,
I hope someone can help me with a little problem:
I don't know where to inject with the AOB to start the search for the base address.
I sometimes find the base address for a character in an rpg myself but over searching for health for example an than looking into the memory and dissect data / structures.
Do you simple search for this address when choosing a character or what do I have to do here?
Thanks for reading :-)
Merry Christmas from Germany,
Matthias

I did not understand the problem right.
Are not you finding an offset that allowed you to shop with the other characters?

Hi Filipe_Br,
no, i would like to know, where i have to start with the aob scan.
I can start when a person is hit for example or when I spend some statpoints or skillpoints. But I saw tables where it is only necessary to select one character to find out, where the base address from the selected character is.
Sorry for the bad discription. I am just starting with aob scans...
Greetings,
Matthias

Just to see if I get it.
When you scan with an AOB, does it only show some results after you do some action in the game?
Example: If you have the AOB that writes the ammunition values of the weapons. When you do a scan on this AOB, you will only find some results after firing a bit.

No, it's about how to FIND the AOB.
For a shooter game for example:
I know how to write a script if you fire a shoot. This script than will prevent the game to decrease the value of your ammo. But I only find an injection point AFTER I fire a shoot.
I.e. I search for the value. Than decrease it. Search again. Find an address. Find out what writes to this address. Tata, I've found my injection point. And I can prevent the game to decrease the value again.
But I would like to know how to get the name of the weapon and the current ammo simply by chosing the weapon. After loading the game and without firing a shoot.
I'm sorry its a little difficult to describe.
Greetings,
Matthias

If you want the information of the current weapon selected. You will have to find the correct addresses. It can be a scan, and every time you choose another weapon, look for values that have changed. And see if the address has any name of the weapon.

so practicaly I make a hotkey for "changed value" and change a 100 times till I find a value which always change. And than I am looking with dissect data into the addresses and search manualy for a name?

Yes, it should probably work, but it's not sure.
If by chance you do not find the name of the weapon, then you should find an address that has a value for each type of weapon. Then make a script that contains a "library" that for each number the address presents, have the name of the weapon you wrote in your library.
