is there any way to deny or restrict access to registry for specific application in win7 ? i want to restrict any changes or additions to registry but retain it ability to read from it.

You can debug the application yourself, hook the APIs you want to stop it from using.

But there's no tool, no.

You should be able to set permissions for individual registry keys in Windows 7, thus allowing applications to read the key, but not modify it. Use the registry editor.
