all right, got each os on separate operating systems. manjaro forces its own boot manager, GRUB2. i have modified the grub.cfg boot file, added a menuentry for windows 7:
menuentry "Windows 7" {
insmod ntfs
set root='hd0,msdos2'
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 283CDB913CDB5880
chainloader +1
}
the 283...880 is my uuid.
this does not work.
neither does hd0,1
or hd1,1
i'm not sure what to do. it just tells me an os is not detected. i'm assuming when i " set root=' ", i am pointing it to the wrong partition. i would appreciate some help.
fdisk -l gives
sudo fdisk -l
Disk /dev/sda: 119.2 GiB, 128035676160 bytes, 250069680 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x7ba25e76
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sda1 * 219346944 250066943 30720000 14.7G 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 206848 219346943 219140096 104.5G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
Partition table entries are not in disk order.
