Anyway long story short was trying to get a D2 mod to work... it was dated and nonfunctional with latest patch... you would think something like that would be mentioned somewhere closer then 500 posts down in the bottom.
Had to reinstall D2 completely and while figuring out how to get it to run again on Win7 64... and messing with compability features(none of which do jack shit you just need -w at the shortcut so it starts windowed then none of the other things are needed and it doesn't lag). All that resulted in partial icon fuckup.
Am I correct in assuming that iconcashe.db got corrupted/saved in 256 color mode? Can I just delete it and let windows recreate it? Or is it something else?

Try doing the following:
1. Navigate to: C:\Users\<Your User Name Here>\AppData\Local\
2. Locate the file: IconCache.db
- This is a hidden system file so you will need to adjust your folder settings accordingly to see it.
3. Delete the file.
4. Restart your system. _________________
I was thinking the same thing even mentioned the file but when I could finally reboot that didn't do it, sadly.
So any other ideas?
Edit:
Nvm. First time I did this, I shut down properly and windows probably generated it before shutting down and did so with broken icons. Second time I did so and just did a hard power button shutdown. That solved it thankfully so now I don't have to stare at those 256 color icons anymore.
