my game that im trying to run ce on crashes when i have ce running in background. i tried to rename cheat engine and i went to the file location renamed the files with the name cheatengine but then cheatengine would not open.

anyone know a fix?

What is your game's name ? It is ... maybe protected from being hacked.Try cheat engine on some other game.Also uncheck read only from properties

It's a legit troubleshooting step to see if the issue is actually with CE or with the game.
