|

Hello,
i have a problem writing to memory.
let me explain :
i have a signature and an offset and i want to write 4 bytes.
pasting the address from cheat engine work very good.
i'm using c# to code.
but writing to memory make the program close.
WriteMemory function returns true and reports 4 bytes written but i can tell from CE Memory View that only the first byte has been written.
i want to know what happend.
i have a lot of questions :
- maybe program don't like concurrent access
do i need to "lock/claim" memory before writing ? and how ?
- maybe i'm in a "protected memory zone"
from memory regions tool, my address belongs to :
Allocation Protect : Execute+Write Copy
State : Commit
Protect : Read+Write
Type : Image
do i need to do special thing before writing ?
- in CE source code where is the code that implement copy/paste functions ?
another strange things : my code work for 0x00000000
if i write 0x00000000 (from code, not from CE), program reflect this without closing.
any help or discussion is welcome, it's the first time i'm trying to write memory.

You will need to post the code you are having issues with or there is not much anyone can do to help you.
