litecoins aren't the same as bitcoins brah

bitcoins are worth more gogo, but theyre also harder to mine, you can mine litecoin faster, and if it picks up and gets more popular, it could be a good investment to mine them now

harder to mine than lite coins, I can get a lite coin in a few hours with my cpu+gpu, while it takes MUCH longer to get 1 bitcoin with the same hardware.

yes I know its easy to download gui miner and mine the bitcoins, but it takes much longer than it takes to mine a litecoin

http://litecointalk.org/

"Litecoin is the result of some of us who joined together on IRC in an effort to create a real alternative currency similar to Bitcoin. We wanted to make a coin that is silver to Bitcoin's gold. Various alternative currencies have come and gone. Some brought innovation, but they all had problems."

"Miners will generate 50 coins per block. In light of our faster blocks, to properly mimic Bitcoin's generation trajectory, we needed to change the blocks at which coin generation is halved. Bitcoin generation is halved every 210,000 blocks. Litecoin generation will be halved every 840,000 blocks. For those of you doing the math, Litecoin is scheduled to produce roughly 4 times as many coins as Bitcoin, about 82 million litecoins."

1 Litecoin = 0.00398 BTC

they mine at different rates because of the difficulty. a bitcoin is $12 and a litecoin is only worth 0.038 of a bitcoin
