Was looking through a list of tutorials, but couldn't find one that suited my needs. How do you find the address of a value with a maximum limit of 2 that changes when the value changes?
An example is with swords and sandals crusader. Each time you level up you have two stat points, you search that and again after having changed the value. You get nothing, even if you do it will only change the display(not the actual value). Noticed this was hacked on a few game sites, so wanted to get a deeper understanding into how this works.
Can anyone help?

The stat points i want to hack are from survival mode.

Well it's like the health for succubus no tatakai, except that you can't use soul pts as a helper.
So:
1-search for unknown value, type 4bytes, last digit C (noticed how your health and soul pts both ended with C? Same here).
2-spend one point, filter with changed value
3-wait a bit, and do several "unchanged value filters"
4-undo skill pts usage -> changed value
5-spend your points,undo -> changed value (since the pointer changed)
6-Improvise using a mix of steps 2-5...
X-...and well when you only have one result edit [result_address]+5 as a 4byte int, enter desired_value*8

I wish it was, unfortunately this is a lot harder.
It's impossible using that method, tried it three times and kept getting stuck on 713.

Here's one where i found the "value" by searching the displayed value directly which offered absolutely no help. Took a deeper look in multi level pointers and got nowhere with that either, ended up pointing to non-existent addresses.

I guess we don't have the same definition of "impossible" as I hacked skill pts - twice - before making my post. You probably need to do more rescans. I noticed I did a lot of "unchanged value" filters in quick succession - like 10 in a row as fast as I could click until it had a neglectible effect on the result count.
Now that you mention pointers, there is a fast way to hack this (and yes, I just tested it):
1-Change your skill points once (this is important)
2-Open the pointer scanner, and configure it that way:
-value to find mode
-look for your_skill_pts*8, type=4 byte
-address must be 32-bit aligned OFF
-only find paths with a static address OFF
-don't include pointers with read-only nodes ON
-pointers must end with specified offsets ON
-5 in the box just under
-max level=1
3-Do that scan
4-Once it finishes, change your skill points ingame
5-Pointer scanner->rescan memory
-value to find mode
-look for your-skill_pts*8, type=4 byte
6-For me there was only one result there
