Real time.

More exciting.

More skill involved.

I would say more skill is involved in turn based.

I we're talking about strategy, then I would say turn-based. If not, real time is the way to go for me.

Depend what the game is about. Real time is more skillful, because its more than just clicking buttons, but turn-based could be good for some things!

Turn Based = Skill, requires thinking for next move with enough given time.
Real-Time = Mostly Reflexes, and possibly a bit of skill.

Depends of the game really, I <3 Heroes series and WC2(not WC3) all thought Heroes is turn based and WC2 is real time.

yeah , if its realtime keep it clean , wc3 just got cluttered with all the damn spells and abilities that no one ever used anyway . WC2 was amazing becasue it was so simple and clean.

I think real time is more fun, but it depends on what game you're making. If it's something like Final Fantasy or Pokemon where you explore and have encounters, then stick to turn based. If you're working on a game that focuses mainly on combat or technological progression.

Turn based is like chess, it flexes the deepest strategical membrane of your mind.
Real time is realistic, which is self explanatory :\

Normally I like realtime, but in an old dos game called Masters of Magic (turn-based) I thought they really worked the gameplay out well.

Real time unless the game cannot work, nor be modified to work, in real time (e.g. chess, checkers).
