Congrats? You linked to the UE2 tech demo?

You are pretty much mentally retarded, bask in shame.

I linked to the ordering licenses page of unreal tech for Unreal Editor 2
since UE3 is still under developing you can send a mail to Unreal to ask the price of UE3 commercial licenses.
-_-

also if you think that the program cost should be a million dollars you are totally wrong because to make a game like GTA4 for example, a company should invest for at least 20 computers,

1 million for each license of the game engine + 4000$ for only 1 3D graphics engine * at least 20 computers
+ payment for all the developers

in total a company should invest over 22 million dollars to produce a game ?
are you mad?

You are so ridiculously clueless it blows my mind

PS GTA4's production budget was around 100 million.

I just saw that it cant be neither because Unreal is not giving the Unreal Engine 3 to the public easily.

Sponsor program is that they affiliate to your company letting you use the Unreal Engine but you have to place Epic Games logo as an sponsor.

Option 'Flash' gave me epic rofls.

The most common approach to MMO's is either a Java/C/C++ serverside and a client in any language you want.

Java for cross-platformability and C++ for performance.

But this is not easy stuff.

After 5 years of game dev, I'm still having to resort to someone elses engine(=[).

You sound just as clueless and "hi I'm here to brag"-ish like Gogodr. Just another RS-dipwit.

The market for computer games, and computers in general, are highly in Windows favor. I would focus on using a mix of c, c++, and asm while using DirectX. For an MMO, you will need speed. Using c and asm will increase this for you while giving it more power than just using c++ alone. For the server, I would go with c and asm. I personally don't use any features of c++ when making a server, so I don't use it. The only way I would use c++ is if I had classes taking care of a lot of aspects of the server, which I usually don't.

As for a web based MMO, I don't do any web programming since my major is EE and my minor is CS, but that ties into my major. So, I can't really say what would be the best since I'm limited in experience pertaining to web programming. From what I've seen, Flash seems to be good. If you ask around, I'm pretty sure someone can give you information on what would be the best for the web.

Flash is very capable for a MMO, AS3 is more powerful than many seem to expect.

>.> if it wasnt that. then whats bad about the flash >.> looks kinda good for me to make a 2D game. its just that ppl usually use it to make little games doesn't means that it cant be used to make a big game.
only thing I was afraid of making a game in flash will be because of the swf decompilers but again. it can be compiled end encrypted.

Flash doesn't compile into native code.
Jeez, what's your problem.
