Two more things...

First, if you close the pointer scanner, you cannot open it again until you restart the game.

Second, when you go to Search -> Find memory, and try to do a search, you're presented the dialog below.

One question about the default pointer scan.
How come it finds like hella addresses, i had like 800+ for 1 addy and they seem to lead to same address and if i reset the ce+ the game the found address stops working. Isint it what pointer are, to find the changing addy and like save it for next time? I cant rly try all 800 but i tried like 10 from diff places.
also the pointer window says "Pointerscanner scanoptions"(maybe mine is lil outdated, dwnloaded it yesterday.)

The pointer scanner finds possible pointers. (They have a static base address and lead to the target address)

thats why after restarting the game you'll have to use the "Rescan Memory" option and give it the new address so it can throw away the pointers that are wrong (You'll have to find the new address first of course)

as for "Pointerscanner scanoptions" I think that is a valid name for the window that configures the scan that is going to be done in the underlying pointerscan window

oo i see, sry didint notice that function since that pointer scanner didint rly work well for me in 5.4v so i didint use it

thanks for the fix.now works fine with those commands.
btw,i found 1 bug.
in settings->tools menu when i want to add application it throws error:

there is one more command which assembler takes it as another command:

subss xmm0,[ecx]

but cheat engine's assembler it takes the command like this:

subsd xmm0,[ecx]

You might want to redownload ce again:
the pointer scan bugs have been fixed
Implemented the ctrl+f/f3 scan
Fixed the settings->tools button being enabled (really, only lemmings that click everything would get that bug...)
and i've changed the f2 for subss to f3

Thank you for this release, this update has fixed a crash that occurred on attempting to attach to a game which i previously had to use T-search on.

I found a bug which has been present for a while (since 5.4 anyway).

Sometimes when you do a kernelmode "find out what accesses/writes this address" the game will crash, or CE will crash... or I'll BSOD if I've got Olly running as well.

I take it that's probably the protection (Themida)/colliding hooks with Olly that are causing it?

Most likely colliding hooks. Try the order of attaching. E.g first olly and then CE, or just the other way around.

If the IDT is unhooked and an interrupt then happens, it'll result in an unhandled debug event, usually causing the game to terminate


Also, try with dbvm, because then the hook happens before the IDT so no problem with the IDT being unhooked

The popup/hide cheat engine hotkey only works for every other program running other than cheat engine ironically, like ie my browser or a game; but it doesn't work on Cheat Engine itself. Also I don't like that fact that the loading bar for the new modified speed hack does not fit the form; can you enlarge the form a bit? Other than this nice update

go to settings general and deselect the option "hide some/all windows instead of trying to bring cheat engine to front"

as for the speedhack, do you use a dpi higher that 96 ? (Or vista with it's ugly think window borders ?)
