I've added support for USB booting and fixed several 64-bit signed value bugs. (noticed them when upgrading from 2GB ram to 6GB)
here are some screenshots showing a successful boot, i'll upload this version tomorrow if I get the time:
xp 32-bit:
vista 64-bit:

Looks great!
I should note though: the string could be blacklisted by anti-cheat softwares. |

yes, that string can be detected. Of course, not changing the cpuid output isn't as hard as changing it is
anyhow, i've attached the current version. Those thatknow how to use it can try it. I'll probably make a 'installer' for it that'll make putting it on a floppy or usb flash stick easier.
For those that want to use usb, I noticed a weird bug on my bios version when setting up the usb to boot as harddisk (system halts for half a minute each tiem the usb disk is accessed, but if you configure the usb device to run as a floppy (bios fiddling in usb settings while usb stick is in) it'll work fine.

Here's a small installer for those that don't know how to write .img files to a disk.
Just put vmdisk.img in the same folder (or select the location of vmdisk.img at startup) select a disk, and click write (Preferably a disk with 512sectors/track)
Also, I've protected it as best as I can from selecting physical harddisks, but don't complain if you do write to the wrong disk anyhow and then find out you can't boot...
So, if for some unknown reason you select C: and the write button stays enabled, do not click write

Here is a newer version that has some more bugs fixed. (e.g multicore should work better)
You can use the current dbvmwrite to write it to a disk or usb. Or a normal cd/dvd writer program to write it to CD/DVD

Works perfectly
A small bug, however: the disassembler test resulted with 64-bit mode registers, while my desktop supports 32-bit mode only. |

I've got news for you: Your system supports 64-bit mode.
The whole menu at the start is in full 64-bit, as is the rest of dbvm. (So it can also run 64-bit os'es) _________________

I guess it does - CPUID resulted positive for 80000001.
That's a profit indeed |
