On my old computer right now ; )

Intel Xeon 1.86GHz E5320 8 cores
8GB RAM

I bought this box a while back as a dev machine so it's got a crappy GFX card. Doing some heavy compile work so also currently remoting into a Blade with:

Intel Xeon 2.27GHz L5520 16 cores
24GB RAM

Also I'm pretty sure 'ZacTheSin' does not own the server box he's posting about. Probably he's rented a virtualised part of it.

Which is?
Because my i7 920 (4.2GHz), 12GB RAM PC is an absolute hulk in Papua New Guinea. In fact, the best computer here.

Got a few 'upgrades' for my comp, e8400, 560Ti, 27" monitor & 4gb more ram.

I should probably go i7 instead of upgrading this one, lucky enough I got those parts for like 20 bucks (including GFX) so WORTH IT!

I'll enjoy my Phenom II x4 955 oc'd to 3.5 on 1.4v while your CPU consumes more and does less.

Intel is better in your case bro.

Actually it does the same and has been proven to eat intel in a lot of heavy threaded programs. Get over it.

Might as well update mine, been a while since I posted here.

Motherboard: Asus P6X58D-E
RAM: 6GB 1600MHz
GFX: Nvidia Galaxy 560ti (Overclocked to 860MHz)
CPU: Intel i7 930 @ 2.8GHz
CPU Cooler: Some watercooling thing, cost 130 bucks, temp never goes above 60c with Prime95
Power Supply: Antec 650w
Monitors: Two 16:9, 1920x1080 monitors (One samsung, other LG)
HD: 320GB primary, 500GB secondary, 2TB third

Decent rig, shame I'm not bringing it with me to Uni. Tried to OC the cpu but I constantly got bluescreens, so it's a waste of a watercooler. Also have an $85 soundblaster card and a $20 Network card as the one on my motherboard broke due to thunder.

"It’s a foregone conclusion that Core i7-3960X is faster than AMD’s FX-8150, but the comparison is an interesting one nevertheless."

final nail in the coffin (core vs core architecture)

A Pentium G620 is better than a 8150...jesus.

Hey cool you're linking single threaded benchmarks. Get the fuck over it and stop derailing the thread. My core sucks at single threaded processes, but guess what? I don't give a shit. Its already been proven its godlike with multithreaded but not single. Who the fuck uses single threaded anyway? Go use windows 98 fag.
