A note: Even if the user is a trusted member of the forum, you would do best to scan the file at www.virustotal.com or something.

I like Linux, but I'm just not experienced enough to fully use one (and I would hate to have to start over in programming for Linux).

How about Apple's Mac? I know it's going to be different, but do you guys think it would be hard to transit over?

Programing for linux is pretty much the same but UI building is easy. As for the Mac, blegh! I wouldn't even write a hello world for that shite.

mac, infact based on OpenBSD sourcecode, which technically is the same as linux's distros. Mac's APIs are called Carbon if I'm not mistaken.

Based on various sites talking about Mac coding, using their IDE/compiler XCode, it's no different then a Windows application:

Code:
 #include <iostream>

 int main (int argc, char * const argv[]) {
     // insert code here...
     std::cout << "Hello, World!\n";
     return 0;
 }

Yeah, that's not windows code though =>. Every operating system should run that.

http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/index.html

They seem to offer a great deal of sample code, tutorials, guides, etc. just like the MSDN does for Windows API. Doesn't look too bad either. Assuming you took the time to cover the basics and syntax, I'm sure it will start flowing as easy as Windows API does.
