Well the thing is I know how to find pointers and make them do nothing to freeze the value but how can you make it increase or decrease the value instead of just stopping it...

select it and click on the grey + or - or just freeze it and click on the spot of the = till it changes to a + or -

a + means that it will go up
a - means that it will go down

No I mean after you do the find what writes to this address and then it brings up the list and you can choose to "Replace" "Show disassembler" "add to code list" "More Information" But all Replace dose is freeze it and adding it to code list dose the same thing after you make your trainer I want to be able to set a value like in AOE2 the codes change every time so I had to make codes finding what writes to the codes but that makes it hard to make a cheat that will change the pop. limit to 75 when all I can get it to do is make it freeze I don't know alot yet abot pointers and assembler so I'm stuck...

You'll need to find the pointer(s) to those addresses.
Find out what accesses those addresses, look at the assembler code to figure out the value of the pointer, and then scan for that value.
Try step6 in the tutorial, it explains the basics of finding pointers and using them
