I suggest try every one of them and decide for yourself play with your friends too you'll learn alot if they know much..
as for answering your question my hero really depends on what my team mates heroes are....

I'd say.
Lina is one of my all-time fav's.
Gotta love slow+ice+major damage.
Necro'lic is amazing aswell.
But my all time-fav. is;
Styrgwyr.

my top favs are:
1. Ursa - total team rape 
2. Spectre - huge dps and great chasing hero (and awesome ulti)
3. Earthshaker - sets up ganks and can destroy a team push with his ulti
4. Anti mage - hardly ever dies unless disabled and nice dps + chasing

those reasons really depend on the user and how well he knows how the enemy will act
