If the government needs money so bad why don't they legalize marijuana and tax it?
Guess they don't know a "Cash Crop" when they see one...

We did not come to a point where we can control nuclear fusion/fission that well to let it power a car. Even if we did I would not reconmand it because if it(even its a small if) goes wrong then BOOM a nuclear blast. The gas prices are so high because of a simple business rule. If demand goes up, while suply goes down , price for suply goes up. That's right fosile fuel is running out. It would be completely gone after 42 years.

Convert to air compressed cars
Quote: |
Imagine a vehicle with nothing under the hood (or bonnet), no gearbox, no transmission, no carburetor or other fuel feeds. Yet it converts virtually all the energy fed to its motors into actual motion. With the elegance of absolute simplicity, this concept makes traditional internal-combustion cars look like the Rube-Goldberg contraptions they are: using way too many parts and stages to do what is really a simple task.

Why are you comparing the US? The US is probably the highest in economy.
Besides.. Where are all the ones similar to the US? You forgot those. ;P

I love how people complain so much about gas prices, yet haven't even attempted to do anything about it. It seems I'm the only one here cutting back on gas consumption as much as possible, and walking or using public transportation, but it seems like a lost cause because nobody else will follow suit. Even if your life of driving everywhere is too convenient for you, arrange a boycott of certain gas companies and start a pricewar, or do anything. If you haven't attempted any way to fix the issue, you have no right to complain about gas prices. There is no shortage of oil, or any other reason for gas prices to be so high, so we could just as easily fix this issue if anyone was willing to do anything about it.

I want to drive, but by the time I get my license, Gas is most likely going to be $6.00 - $7.00 at the rate its going now..IT WENT FROM $2.00 to $4.00, in 3 YEARS!!!! (Or 4.) When I'm older I'll have to start riding a bike and taking a taxi everywhere!
