I don't have a mac, I'm just using a vmware image with macosx

Because for an unknown reason some game developers actually target mac's for their games as well. And mac is an open system (for now)

I hope you're not afraid of sudo and cp because you will have to copy the liblua5.1.dylib to /usr/lib

that you have to use the command prompt as a root user and copy liblua5.1.dylib to /usr/lib

I'm dying for an update that lets us actually see ASCII text in the memory view.

Define ASCII text

The image at http://forum.cheatengine.org/files/the_pigs_are_freezing_hell_208.png shows that the ASCII is being shown. (0x44='D' 0x50='P' 0x69='i' 0x6e='n' 0x76='v' , which seems correct to me)

Like this. Its the windows version of cheat engine but I have the same game on my mac. It MIGHT be the game itself but I think it'd be CE because the string I search for comes up on the list but when I click memory view I don't see it. Instead its just a bunch of random symbols.

I'm clicking on the address and then clicking on "Memory View"

yes, but does the address on the left side in memory view match the address you are clicking ? (all digits are the same and none are missing ?
