Um...I don't think this program is so famous that game creators actually worry about it. |
to tell you the truth, i like ce because of it great function and with low profile (stay under the radar).
if ce got well known like tsearch and artmoney, game creator will notice ce and take some anti ce in their future patch or games.

I agree that CE has the potential to be more famous, it's just unfortunate it isn't. I think it's better than artmoney...if i was to compare it to tsearch i'd have to think about that...t-search somehow runs with less problems and its auto hack has little more debugger fuctions that CE has.
But i have already pointed out that i think CE should be more famous. After all it IS better than artmoney...and the people behind artmoney even charge for it. (well i have never tried the pro version of it...cuz i don't wanna pay for programs that are no better than CE anyways).
Well i already recommanded CE a few times to people that were looking for something they could cheat with but they only used it as long as i gave them instructions for a certain game...then they stopped using it... ....and now i am here writing tutorials in order to give users the possiblity to use CEs full potential and realize just how great it is. I hope the more people realize how great it is the more it WILL hopefully become famous.
I'm willing to write further tutorials ...just that i don't know about what.
Dark Byte is putting so much work into this project...and it's the responsiblity of the community to do the rest...to spread the news about the program to the world...he himself can hardly do anything in order to make it famous, many people have to recommand it...if only i and a few others recommand it it's useless as well, so i think if i make more people like it, by telling them easy ways to solve their cheating problems while using CE, they will recommand it and it will get more users. I think that is the least i can do for the CE that dark byte works so hard on. Btw i sometimes think dark byte works too hard on this...

Don't worry that I'm spending too much time on this. Only a few hours each week (mainly weekends). Other times I'm just playing games, or doing other stuff. (thats also the reason why I don't update more frequent)
(what functions does the auto-hack of t-search have that Ce doesn't have? )

Well the autohack has following features:
Ones that CE has:
-See what changes address and replace it with code that does nothing
-Show dissambler
One that i dunno if CE has:
Thread: show all threads with their priority ,local base, id and handle.
One that i think does not have:
Debug events: what files/dlls were accessed
One that i dunno what it is:
Set breakpoint

You can see all the threads+threadid+local base in the memory view under "view->threadlist" (it doesn't contain the priority, but I can add it in the time this reply was written)
to see wich dll's it has access to go to view->enumerate dll's
Set breakpoint is also in. It's at "debug->toggle breakpoint"
Setting a breakpoint stops the program at that spot and shows the status of the registers, you can then step through the code and see how the registers change with each step. It's also posible to change the value of the registers while stepping through the code by double-clicking on the register. (I know they get the wrong register name if you do that, but one step and it's back to normal)
There is also a assembler(don't know if t-search has it), doubleclick the opcode, press enter or rightclick and choose assembler and then you can type in the new instruction

tsearch have that.
ce dont have what tsearch have list:
1. easywrite - code injection with asm code
2. converter - convert hex, bin, dec
3. range search - between min and max value
4. tmk intergration - code for usage with tmk
5. blind mode - hotkey so you dont have to minimize the games
6. scientific calculator - calculate value
7. speech engine - very useful when doing blind mode.
8. imported function & non imported function - add custom function
ce dont have what artmoney have list:
1. search All value - search all size
2. search by formula - for encrypted value
3. undo redo search method - backup previous search table
that is all i can think of now, i'll add more if i remember anything else

Does this mean give it a file with assembler code and it injects it for you (and perhaps even execute it in a thread)? Or is there more to it ?
Quote: |
2. converter - convert hex, bin, dec
|
CE has that in a way. (type in the value and check/uncheck hex, or go to binary and switch between bin and dec, but I agree that it could be easier)

3. range search - between min and max value
|
I gues I can add it. (just combining bigger than/smaller than)
Quote: |
4. tmk intergration - code for usage with tmk
|
never going to be in ce

I don't understand what use blind scanning has. How do you intend on freezing/changing a value, especially if the game always returns more than 1 found address?
Quote: |
6. scientific calculator - calculate value
|
start->run... ->"calc" and set it to scientific. (or even give the shortcut to the calulator a hotkey)
I could of course let CE execute the calculator...

7. speech engine - very useful when doing blind mode.
|
Ok, it may tell how many addresses it has found, and when a error occurs, but what after that ?
Quote: |
8. imported function & non imported function - add custom function
|
Do you mean provide a dll with extra functions that ce calls? (or even an interface)
E.g: Create a window with info about the process, or even a new scanning method and using the CE API ?

I've been working on it a little, but what do you do when a user scans for an increased value and in the previous scan where some results a text value? throw all text results away ? try to convert some to a decimal?
Or just don't scan for text at all with this method?
Quote: |
2. search by formula - for encrypted value
|
Also looked at it for a while, but I'm having some trouble understanding how to use it.
What kind of formula are you talking about? e.g:bt1/bt2=bt3 where bt1,bt2 and bt3 are 3 bytes in a row ?
Quote: |
3. undo redo search method - backup previous search table
|
Possible, but it's going to take up a lot of hard disk space to store all the previous scans.

Well for example you can scan for it and even if it has more than one result (like 2 or 3) you can still create a trainer of it and run it next time before the game starts. Only works for games that do not change addresses of course. Like that you can also cheat anti tab protected games but CE trainer wouldn't work as some(most anti tab protected games i know of) games intercept the buttons-presses of CE trainers.
Btw some may wonder why it's not in my tut...it's because my tutorial is about anti tab protected games with CE and this has nothing to do with CE.

Tutorial updated...
I've removed the possiblity of there being screen partitioning because as long as you cannot unfocus it you will have to use AAT or else it will simply crash.(sorry the_brilliance but it's no use).

Can I make a suggestion,,
being an upstart newbie,
but what TSEARCH has'nt got ,,, and its a brilliant cheater,,
and what CHEAT ENGINE has'nt got,, which Is also a brilliant cheater,,
they compliment each other anyway,,
so use both,,
lucky for us we got a scanner that's being updated and kept current,,
ALSO
we got some of the best game hackers on this forum that I've seen over the last few years,,
and DARK BYTE is updating regular and improving his engine,,
how many others are doing that,,
anyway I'll shut my gob now,,

Dark Byte is there any chance of this tutorial getting included in the help file? (after all that is stated in the sticky that good ones get included).
Or, maybe... will the hotkey function you are working on also include a freeze and switch to CE so that all this becomes unnecessary?
Well if it's still useful feel free to take any part of it and put it into the helpfile.

I'll see if I can add some stuff to the helpfile
Freezing the game is no problem, the problem I'm having is that when the game uses directdraw/3d or another direct input to the graphics device I can't seem to get cheat engine back to the screen. (might be my graphics card though) So if someone has any hints, let me know.

Same here btw...so it might not be gfx card related.
AAT's way seems to work but often needs a couple of tries. Btw, when it's initiated by pressing the chose game tool button it seems to execute some DOS commads. I see a black window looking like one flashing...maybe by taking a look at AAT you can come up with something.
