ok located at 40116b its comparing eax with 409070. eax is what you enter and if you set a bp there it says eax has to be zero. however you can't just enter nothing you have to enter something. so i think u can't crack it only patch it. im probably rong though Smile

but password might be also a string, a word... so find out what eax means but 409070 :O

ur laughing at me.
voids crackme's are hard. this 1 is plain texted.
password is "" without the quotes, unfortunatly u cant enter blank in cmd so lets say this is not crackable without a patch.

I'm no expert... But as far as I can tell - this can't be done without patching?

EAX is the first letter of whatever you enter...

DWORD PTR DS:[409070] is 0x00000000

which cannot be entered.

bug? or am i being dumb? i'll relook at this in the morning and see if i'm just to tired...

Ahhh silly me - i MUST be tired;

of course null can be entered!

at the command line hold control + shift and hit 2 (@)

this will result in a null character (^@ is displayed)

and you get a win Wink

that brings back old terminal memories..
