Cheat Engine

Hey!

I am looking for a possibility to remove the hunting time limit from Cabela's Pro Hunts.
I startet today with Cheat Engine and was looking for de-or increasing unknown values, but wasn't successful.
It starts with a time like 10:00 and increases every 10 seconds with 1 minute in the time-clock. After like 7h, at 17:00 the hunt ends.
At first i was trying to find seconds, but that wasn't working either.
As i am totally new, i am looking for some expert advice!

there is many possibilities:

- they might count hours separately.
- they might count minutes separately.
- maybe total hours and minutes are counted as seconds.
- it can be float data type.
- it can be byte data type. (or even 4 bytes)
- maybe the display value looks like increasing from 10:00 to 17:00 while the actual value have a count down from 07h to 00h.

and much much more possibilities, just try out every possible thing come in ur mind and note that down so you know what you tried and what not.
share it with people and tell'em what u tried so they come up with new way to test and check.

I think i found it and i want to share it with you. At least i can freeze the minutes:

It looks like it counts in milliseconds:

- Value Type Double

- When the clock says 09:05, i calculated 5 ingame Minute are 300.000 milliseconds ( 1000 milliseconds * 60 seconds * 5 mintes ).
So the value 300.000 equals the :05 part.

And this is how i did it:
- start game in window mode
- choose one hunt
- press map button and check the time
- alt+tab to cheat engine
- I started first scan with unknown initial value
- Next Scan with value between, enter range of milliseconds like 280000 till 320000
- Switch back and forth between game and cheat engine while pressing next scan with increased value
- After you have < 10 values, put them to the adress list and try freezing them one by one and check, if the time stops.

Next question for me:
How can i use a hotkey or a program, to freeze the value a bit more comfortable?

once the address found, right-click it and choose "pointer scan this address"
just press ok for every window and you should be fine.
let the scanner finish and you will end up with tons of results, all of them have the same address and value and make sure you select the exact data type to view them from top-left.

once all this done just pick an address and wish its a valid pointer, there is some tips and tricks and useful info's about how to reduce the list and get rid of invalid pointer.
so no need to explain in detailed since lot of people did:

- keep CE and pointer scanner window open
- close the game
- launch game executable
- attach CE to the process
- from "pointer scanner" tab choose rescan memory
- you have to options:
you find the address again and let CE re scan it to find the new address
or
you start a game and let that timer or instruction initiate the address then choose rescan to find value of: and select double data type.

and keep doing this process, rebooting ur pc can help too.
and keep in mind this is the basic and simplest way to get rid of invalid pointer, there is many more ways and many of them better than this way but this is faster.
