I have started working on a table for the game Touhou 15 and have been wanting to make an item vac. The way I am currently attempting is trying to abuse an item vac that is already in the game by having your character be above the 127 Y-Axis(2D game).
I feel like I've exhausted my value searching options through looking for changed/unchanged values of every type without success. The other time that items are vacced to you are when you use a "bomb". After I noticed that, I started to search through the opcodes around the bomb activation, looking for some kind of cmp or anything on the FPU or stack that seemed possibly related to this item vac.
I have seen some people talk about finding names of functions like isJumping. How can I do that for this game?
Another solution I am thinking about is finding out if I can grab the X and Y value of every item that drops and place it on my player. I just feel like I'll run in to a lot more problems with that, compared to if I use something that's actually built in to the game.
Hoping someone can offer something that triggers some different way of thinking about this problem.

If using a bomb causes items to get vacuumed to you, then you could isolate the call/jump that allows for that subroutine to get executed and set up a script to manually execute it whenever you want. You can look at CE's ultimap for this, or, CDA - Code Dynamic Analysis (for 32bit targets only).
Alternatively, some targets will share instructions for handling all object coordinates. Look to see if that is the case, and set up a script to vac all items to player. You will likely need to segregate all non-item coordinates by setting up a filter.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for - something to look at the program from a different angle.
Hopefully I can get some results soon.

I had a lot of success once using referenced strings to find code. Although it's more difficult than using ultimap, it is easier than using CDA.
Well, referenced strings are more hit and miss than any of these code analysis techniques. If you can use Ultimap, definitely do it.

Using Ultimap I was able to find the exact opcode that was comparing the players Y with xmm0 and then make a script to create item vac.
Thanks for help METHOS
