It's full of nostalgia and should have been retained, not deleted. Specifically, good ol' Stick Arena.

They were removed due to changes in the rules against online / multiplayer hacking due to legal issues.

Perhaps could have just left it locked as an archive? Going to assume he was a bit overprotective in that decision.

You can still visit it apparently, however. It's just hidden.
