|
|
Hello.
I have problem finding turn timer (Or any timer) in Worms W.M.D.
I tried it on custom game with timer set to 90.
I tried searching for time left.
I tried searching for time passed.
I tried Float and 4 byte.
I tried searching for increased/decreased value.
I failed. Can anyone help me?
P.S.
Worm health is also tricky.

When you search, use a range instead of exact value.
If the game shows 20 seconds left, search between 19 and 21.
Also, try searching in milliseconds. For above, search between 19000 and 21000.
Then try searching for elapsed time instead of remaining time.
For instance, if each person is given 30 seconds to act and the timer shows 20 left, search for 10.
Try 4-byte, float, and double types. Or if the time is a small number, it may only use 1-byte.

Thanks. I'll try with different units.

edit. one more thing - I'm trying to freeze training timer too. It looks like 00:00.00 and rises from 0 to inf.

Yes. I did it. But I lost my file long time ago.
From what I remember I hooked function that is responsible for time change and manipulated raw timer value there.
How I found it:
When timer reaches 5 second it changes color. So I searched for 1/0 before and after timer color change. I found variable that changed to 1 when timer reached 5 seconds. From there I backtracked function that changes timer and hook it. There was some simple "encryption" of timer value but I didn't even analyze it as I was modifying raw value in between it got decrypted, changed and ecrypted again.
It took me about 2 hours.

Hmm.. And have you got any idea how to find training timer value? It doesn't change color. It starts from 00:00.00, ends at 60:00.01. I was trying to find increased unknown value and then decreased - nothing.
