Measuring every Sunday:

2/19 196.6 lb (start)
2/26 194.4 lb (week 1)
3/5 187.6 lb (week 2)

I've lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I haven't been counting calories, but it's probably about less than a 1000/day. I've been eating small portions of foods, and generally healthy foods like eggs and veggies. I've been drinking 3-4 water bottles a day, no sodas, no candy, no "junk food". I plan on being on this diet until I am a healthy weight (I'm 5'7" so about 145), so I want to know if this is a sustainable diet for a few months.

Fat, not very muscular. My fat proportions mostly go into my thighs and butt. Other than working two jobs, I was quite sedentary before I started going to the gym 2 weeks ago.

just don't do too much cardio. replace it with lifting weight. some people lose 9 pounds in much less time. Have you measured weight in the morning after going to toilet? I weight 7 pounds more when going to the bed compared to when I wake up.

are you sure you're measuring right and this isn't just water weight loss
9 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty drastic

It's possible without steroids if you're new to weightlifting. It's actually really common..

you can, but it doesn't sound like he is b/c he only included his diet info not his work out info

OP: still try and drink more water. make sure the veggies are varied and that you are getting enough protein to not lose muscle. remember: muscle is denser than fat, so dramatic loss in weight quickly is not a good thing, because you should be able to lose fat while gaining muscle which would mean that the weight loss per week should not be a crazy amount. 5~lbs if you go from entirely sedentary to working out a lot and eating healthy is pretty reasonable (just a guess), but remember your body needs time to adjust and there are a lot of factors in play (hormones) so the typical recommendation is loosing 2lbs per week tops.

tldr 1000 calories is probably too little if youre exercising, and losing weight too quickly = loose skin

I'm still losing weight, but I upped my calorie intake so it's not as fast (but healthier). I also now do strength training for my legs by having max resistance when operating the elliptical. I also am cycling. Lost 15.4 lb in 6 weeks.

2/19 196.6 lb (start)
2/26 194.4 lb (week 1)
3/5 187.6 lb (week 2)
3/12 189.2 lb (week 3)
3/19 185.4 lb (week 4)
3/25 183.8 lb (week 5)
4/3 181.2 lb (week 6)

Assuming I keep this rate up, I should be 150 by mid July.
