I completed all 7 steps normally.

On 8th step tutorial is crashing

see attached screenshot:

what might be the problem?

try it again and skip directly to 8. perhaps one of the previous edits caused stack corruption
if that doesn't work try resetting cheat engine's settings

tried both advices and it didn't fix it. it still crashes all the same as before.

I even reinstalled cheat engine.

Found out what the problem was.

The 64 bit cheat engine, loads the 32 bit tutorial when you click on it from the program.

Once I loaded the 64 bit tutorial from the folder, it did not crash.

Could we summarise that we need to use 32 bitCE for 32 bit programs
and 64bit CE for 64bit programs?

The 64bit version of CE can work fine for 32bit programs.
