Hi guys,
Every time I rebuild CE, Lazarus insists that the options have changed and it rebuilds /everything/. How can I fix this, to drastically speed up compile times?
building 64-bit after using:
fpcup64 --fpcURL=trunk --lazURL=trunk --fpcrevision=27759 --lazrevision=44997
fpcup --fpcURL=trunk --lazURL=trunk --fpcrevision=27759 --lazrevision=44997
, checking out the SVN, and setting project config to 64-bit.
Thanks,
JD

you are using the correct lazarus executable? (the one in c:\developer) ?
oh, you ran those two command after eachother?
I recommend you delete everything in c:\developer and just execute one of them and stick with it.
I use the fpcup64 version
After it has been launched, check that the fpc.exe path and other paths are set correctly(to the c:\developer paths), and do a tools->rescan fpc source directory

Yes, it's the only one in my system. The shortcut looks like this: "C:\development\lazarus\lazarus.exe --pcp="C:\development\config_lazarus""

Yes sir. When I installed from the installers, I had to do both so I figured I would have to this way too. Oops.

K, will do. Thanks.

OK, I did this. After following the steps you gave, however, the problem persists. Shift+f9 builds, but then if I do another shift+f9 immediately afterwards it rebuilds the whole thing again, giving the "Options changed, recompiling clean with -B" message. I mean, it's not a huge deal but it would certainly be more fun to poke around if it only recompiled what it needed to.
edit: hrm... it seems that ctrl+f9 does what I intend. I guess the distinction between compile and build doesn't mean what I expect (building meaning compiling+linking to produce an exe versus compiling to produce some intermediate files). Thanks for helping me (again).

Btw, with latest Avast, there are few problems:
As you see, it messed with pas2jni.exe two weeks ago, now with fpmake.exe.
It is better to add whole folder to exclusion list in your AV software.
