What about games past 2000+. Would they work the same way. Using PS2Dis I found a whole bunch of addresses and suff about a character modifier,. I'm talking about the game pac-man world 3. There are say 4 characters used by the player and you can't select them all the time, only sometimes. Would this method work, and if the character modifier we want is for in-game, does the same method apply?

Games past 2000 will have the same method. And yes, this method would work with that game. As long as the game has a character selection screen, more then likely will the game make the selection screen your host for being in charge of which character you are. If there isn't a selection screen, it is the same thing, it will just be at a different address. If you are playing it on a emulator, the address for the character, health, lives, ammo, etc. will most of the time be static (green) so it will be easier to find. Find the score or lives in that game first to see where the character value will be in range from. But yes, the same method applies for both of the types. I have made a total of thirty-three character/car/etc. modifiers if you want to try them out, it might help.

Awesome tutorial ! Just to remember that this is POSSIBLE WITH SUPER MEAT BOY Steam or Retail version ..you can pick secret characters ALSO this is awesome....

I think the above described will work to find the characters in SMB.
