The artificial intelligence in games is too dumb. Even when its on hard settings it seems unrealistic. Games like Metal Gear Solid and its A.I seem like a part of the gameplay rather than an additional feature.

Natural Intelligence in games is pretty dumb, too.
Like say when I'm playing counter strike, everyone either runs in circles or sits in one place.
And the teams, they NEVER move in formation.
I can't imagine how they get anything done.

True humans are dumb. But couldn't games look at real wars and base an army from that?

Well on a broad scale it's pretty realistic.
I have it for PS2, basically when you look down from above at all the soldiers, they move in formation and stuff that I would imagine is lifelike.
It's basically a combo of Dynasty Warriors and Warcraft.

Neural networks are pretty complex, and basically near infancy. So you guys shouldn't complain.

AI has been taken to bad things lately. You don't need complex neural networks, you need a set of instructions to be followed, and a general type of instuctions they can be allowed to do.

But certainly I believe that the easiest and most useful thing to do would be installing a pre-made AI into your game and enhancing it, by more AI engines.

The more the better. You'll eventually learn what is good by releasing more games.

Hey friends you all are right. Artificial intelligence is dumb but if programmers make them perfect then no human can beat them in games. That's why they make them dumb so humans can win the game.
