For $8, on sale.
Now I don't know too much about headphones, I've been going under the general assumption; the higher the price, the better it is.
I've gone through about 5 headsets, all under $10, and none of them were half decent..
Are these headphones any good?

What manufacturer? I take it for that price we are talking about something over the ear and not a full ear cup, I personally prefer the ear cups as they tend to cover or block out background noise better.

The frequency range is up to par with the iPod touch in-ear buds(20-20,000 Hz is usually the range of an average person's hearing.). The magnet type is average. The cable is long enough, and the plug is standard.The only things you really need to worry about, is how durable the headphones are, if the headphones are comfortable and to your liking, how loud they get, and how much sound is leaked.
Preferably, myself, I enjoy in-ear buds rather than headphones for comfort reasons. Headphones, if they are on my ears too long, will produce a lot of sweat. I also work out and when I do, in-ear buds are my first choice.
I once bought a pair of cheap China one penny ear buds before, it also had free shipping. Once it got to my house, it was packaged in a paper envelope. There was no wrapping or anything to protect it from damage. The sound quality was in-fact incredibly fuzzy. They didn't last one evening until the plastic became un-bonded where the seem is on the bud. After that, instead of throwing them away, I decided to dissect the ear buds, and put them to good use. What I did was, I took the two magnets out of the buds. Then, I grabbed a nice photo and taped a thick piece of paper under the photo, then took a hot glue gun and put the two magnets on the opposite side of the photo. Then I used it to hang shit on my refrigerator. In the end, it was sort of worth the one penny.

Don't expect anything by Skullcandy to be good.
Don't expect anything worth $8 to be good.
So basically you'll be getting shit.

Lol, this thread didn't turn out like I expected.
I was kinda hoping someone would explain the specs, what makes a decent headphone.
Code: | * Driver: 30 MM
* Cable Length: 1.2 M
* Max. Input Power: 100 mW
* Plug Type: 3.5 mm gold plated
* Impedance: 30 ohms
* Frequency Range: 20-20,000 Hz
* Magnet Type: NdFeB |
Things like 3.5mm Jack and the Cable Length, I understand it's up to the user, but for 30MM driver and 100mW input power, is that like, the 'average' headphone?

Had a set of Sony headphones, $20 bucks, sound was alright, but better than them $10 craps.

Specs are virtually meaningless unless you look at impedance. Trust your ears not specs, anyways skullcandys are just for show. They are horrible on the whole, get some Audio Technicas instead
