How do I cheat?

Ok i did the following
opened the game in popcapgame1.exe
and when i do i press yes to keep the address/codes right?
i downloaded the one on the thread titled PvZ Codes
and what do i do next?
it wont let me change the values??

If You see the cheats like "Unlimited Sun" and things like that and You cannot enable them, it means it is not working with Your version.
Which version do You use? You can see it if You hover Your mouse cursor over the exe file.

| You can try my trainer . It only has +3 options, all versions and a guy said it worked for him on steam so it might as well for you.

I used the old cheat table/scripts someone else had done and played around with them to get them to work with the latest steam version of plants vs zombies. I joined so I could see what cheats there was for PvZ and all I could find was out-dated. I'm new at stuff like this, so I don't claim that my cheat tables are great or anything, but they seem to work for me.

I only play PvZ through Steam. When playing through Steam, you want to open CE on popcapgame1.exe, instead of PlantsVsZombies.exe, or at least that is what I've read and it works better for me. I never seem to be able to get the cheats to work if I load PlantsVsZombies.exe into CE, but I can get the cheats to work if I load popcapgame1.exe.
Also make sure you have PlantsVsZombies Game of Year edition, version 1.2.0.1095.

ummm can someone send a video on how to use the cheat table and all? when i open it up and made the process Plants vs Zombies.exe and clicked on a white box, cheat engine freezes

Sometimes you need to attach it to popcapgame1.exe or something similar. Depending on what version do you use.
