probably overclocks like shit. 58 series are monsters in that category.
ati prices are going to start to drop and the price / performance range is going to grow even more.
ati is undoubtedly cooking up a refresh as well. looks like fermi needs a fucking die shrink, bad. shit is hotter than hell, as expected, and guzzles power.
it does really well in compute situations / tesselation which i expected, but no where near a big as a lead as it needs to really be viable to anyone that isn't retarded about how they spend their $$$.
they are even losing in some games to ati's cheaper, less power hungry and far cooler and overclockable alternatives. considering people are getting 20% overclocks out of their ati hardware, the gap widens even more.
what nvidia went for in terms of performance (tessellation / raw compute performance) is a good idea in some ways, but it's just not needed / relevant yet in real world games, and as such, they suffered.
really, the product in general seems to be like a big fat "DECENT, NOT QUITE AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD BE WHERE IT SHOULD BE"
and there is a particular thing I would like everyone to remember.. even in the games where the HD5870 does a little better in fps than the GTX480 don't forget that the GTX480 is calculating not only the game graphics but also PhysX simulations. (( which in this case yeah Modern Warfare 2 and Alien vs Predator haves a heavy usage of physX ))
and the main fermi feature which is currently not very implemented in current gen games. Cuda and the GTX 480 shocking 480 cuda cores in a single GPU card.
also nVidia announced that hopefully it will be just a matter of some months after the GTX 480 release to release fermi dual GPU cards.

about sound and temperature, well I already shown the dead silent and cool FTW series for the GTX 480 water cooled GPU

Meh. NVIDIA could have done a lot better. 10% performance gains under favorable circumstances on both cards vs. their competitors. A $250 HD5850 + Catalyst 10.3 seems to be the best bet. _________________

Just Cause 2 isn't DX11.
MW2 doesn't use physx, and neither does AVP
nice try though.
i don't know why you're so adamant on trying to defend it when basically everyone says it's lackluster.

yeah just cause 2 is not DX11
but I don't remember where but I'm pretty sure I reed that MW2 had physX on pc
