|
|
I was wondering if someone out there might know how Sheep was able to make the "Freeze Universe" feature in his Halo trainer? I understand it freezes the AI while still allowing the player to move about, but how do you find the AI code in the first place to freeze it? If this is possible to do in other games this would be great, it is my most favorite feature of his trainer! I love to be able to run around while everything else is frozen, makes you feel like superman I did write to Sheep, but he didn't respond.

I'll Bump that too. Although I accidently updated my game to the latest version, so the trainer would not work. Still does make me wonder how it is possible to find that value and freze it with a simple memory editor.

not got this game so should not really comment on it..
but wondered if you can start up a solo game.. like you start a passworded multiplayer server. with just you on it and no bots......
you can do this in some games,, wondered if you can in halo??
then you can do a unknown initial value scan..
move around, and up and down hills and steps doing changed value scans..
stay still with some unchanged value scans..
then if you find the code that changes you X,Y,Z position you can try to find the pointer addresses or try a bit of code injection that only lets you move and freezes the bots..
your movement code and the bots are very likely controlled by the same lines of code, so you'll have to sort that out...
you will be able to see what module is controlling the movement from CE..
might also be worth messing about with the AI intelligence from the difficulty setting menu,
changing from easy, normal , hard and doing searches from there.. you might be able to set the bots to dumb, probably not but worth a quick look..
.
then again.
.
mabe not.

no, there are no bots in halo, and it doesn't just freeze positions, it freezes everything including projectiles in midair. I'm guessing Sheep found a dev command for it while looking through IDA. You can always use trainer spy and find out the offset that changes, then just backtrace it to see how he found it.

My theory:
He found the player address for moving n stuff... and set the trainer to freeze everything excluding the player address.
