I'm creating a trainer that modifies floats, using 3-level-deep pointers.
As soon as the trainer loads, it tells me "The value of Height is invalid".
I've tried...
1
1.0
1.00000000
0.9
0.99999999
All kinds of things...
/sigh
This stops the rest of the values from loading as well.
I flipped on the option for the user to have the ability to modify the values. When the value comes up, say I used 0.99999, in the user mod box, it has ?.99999
Hope that helps..
Then of course, I get the Range check error message upon closing.

Not because of the mistake, but it happens to me with sp1 and sp2. Changing to windows2k the problem it is solved? Or it is a problem of algun bug of the program? Thank you

This is for Black and White 2 (1.1). Issue happens with any float I try to modify.
Here's a short list:
(Tri-Level Pointers)
Creature Fatness - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 68
Creature - Food in belly 1 - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 98
Creature - Food in belly 2 - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 9C
Creature - Food in belly 3 - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + A0
Creature - p00p - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + DC
Creature - Age - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 108
Creature - Muscle - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 10C
Creature - Fitness - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 110
Creature - Tiredness - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 114
Creature - Height - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 118
Creature - Breath - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 11C
Creature - Hair Length - 05E71D24 + 4 + 4C + 124
For quick addition, here is a copy/paste of the pointers. Not sure if it'll work, but its worth a shot.

Well... I've got it 1/2 working, but not to any satisfaction...
If I "Set a value and freeze/unfreeze the address", then it appears to accept the value for the floats just fine. However, I don't want to freeze the address.
Why?
Lets take height for example, which can be from 0.00000 to 1.00000 .
I need to make 2 hot-keys, one for max short , one for max tall. What if they are both trying to freeze the same address?
Also, there are some values that accept a number, then the game 'processes' that number down to 0. I.e. Alignment.
There is an Actual Alignment value, and a "Change alignment by" value. I don't want to touch Actual Alignment, and if I were to freeze the Change Alignment value, the game would keep trying to change my alignment by X. I.e. If i set the Change Alignment value to 0.5, the game sees this and starts changing my Actual Alignment. If this is frozen, the game will loop, and keep changing my alignment by 0.5 .
Hence why I'd like to "Only set a value"
In short: There is a problem with "Only set a value" as opposed to "Set a value and freeze/unfreeze the address".

So I figured I would go ahead and just change them all to 4-byte values, convert my float/decimals to 4-byte/decimals and make the trainer.
But alas, same exact error when using "Only set a value".
I'm attaching 2 screenshots of the error and also the table I'm using. *note* The pointers have completely changed since my last post. They are 'correct' now =)
Notice the title of the trainer window as well. In shot 2, You can see the trainer running (left version) and the trainer maker version of what it should look like (right version).
I have tested multiple values, creating a new trainer from scratch each time and get the same results.

This is what a float is first set to upon loading the trainer (again, it won't load past the 1st entry.)
It will, however, work, if the value is changed, once the trainer is running. I changed it to 0.2500000000 and hit CTRL+Up and voila'... Increase in alignment.

Thanks to Wizboy for telling me to do the blatantly obvious, which was use a hex editor to fix the mis-saved value in the .exe itself. Thanks to my auto-assuming arse for not figuring this out quicker, as I figured it was an issue with how the values were read by the trainer, not written =)
I used Cheat Engine to search ?.25 and whadda-yah know, bam, there it was. Changed to 0.25 and it works.
