duh, its bcuz that programmer (dont know how to call him, maybe bugger?) used static addresses for calling API's, so it will only run on his computer. what do u think we are arguing over for the whole thread?

The vb decompiler thing was just a joke because the programming section is getting over populated with vb users, but it seems that some vb users are actually going to something better than vb (delphi, c family, asm, java, etc.). You can use notepad, but I don't think that will help you.
You don't need it to run to actually crack the program or find the password (you just need to understand the encryption to get the password). Just pop it in olly and do some analyzing. If you want it to run, you need to understand the calls and what they are doing in order to know what function it is so you can find that address. Or you can find the dll versions I have and use that version. If you know asm, you can just replace the call. After that, it still wont run if you just double click on it. There is a way to show the window by entering something in a special way or patch it.
I've attached the way in opening the program. Both my laptop and my other pc has two of the same dlls, so it was not patched or recompiled. I've also attached something that will show you the address of the functions if you want to try fully cracking it and don't know how to find it.
Next time, I probably wont do it this way.
A) Many of the users of this section seems to be lazy crackers.
B) Might not be friendly to beginners.
C) Takes people out of their comfort zone.
